First Recipient of Brahmavidya
(*Mundaka Upanishad* 1.1.1-2): "Brahma, the creator of the universe and the protector of the world, first taught Brahmavidya (the knowledge of Brahman), the foundation of all knowledge, to his eldest son Atharvan (or Angirasa)." Angirasa then transmitted this supreme knowledge to Satyavaha Bharadvaja, who passed it to Angiras's descendants — creating the chain of spiritual transmission (guru-parampara).
Contributor to the Atharvaveda
Angirasa is traditionally considered a co-author of the **Atharvaveda** alongside Atharvan. The Atharvaveda was originally called "Atharvangirasah" — the "collection of Atharvan and Angirasa." This Veda contains hymns for healing, protection, daily life, and philosophical inquiries.
