Each village devta has its palanquin, kardar (caretaker) and gur (medium). Bijat Maharaj at Sarain and Shirgul at Churdhar are examples; most families of Sarain keep Bijat as kul-devta. Kullu invited 332 devtas to Dussehra in 2025.
