The principal seat of the Pushtimarg, whose acharyas are hereditary descendants of Vallabhacharya. Followers include Bhatia, Lohana, Bania, Marwari and Kanbi Patel families. The Tilkayat heads the statutory temple board ex officio.

A family follows one of the seven houses by acharya lineage. Brahmasambandh initiation is given to each person by a goswami.
