📜Origin Story

Vikhanas is the sage from whom the Vaikhanasa tradition takes its name: a school of the Krishna Yajurveda whose priests have conducted temple worship of Vishnu for centuries, most famously at Tirumala (Tirupati). Vaikhanasa tradition says Vikhanas was born from Vishnu's mind and taught four disciples, Atri, Bhrigu, Marichi and Kashyapa, whose texts form the Vaikhanasa Agamas.
